Ten Commandments

Moses led God's children out to find the promised landMoisés guió a los hijos de Dios para encontrar la tierra prometida

And on the way he'd stop each day and look to heaven andY en el camino se detenía cada día y miraba al cielo

Asked God for help as he could not withstand the task alonePedía ayuda a Dios, ya que no podía enfrentar la tarea solo

And then one day he looked away and thereby lay a stoneY un día apartó la mirada y vio una piedra

God said write upon this stone these words I say to youDios dijo escribe en esta piedra estas palabras que te digo

And if you all obey my rules I'll see you safely throughY si todos obedecen mis reglas los guiaré de forma segura

God opened heaven's door and then he guided Moses' handsDios abrió las puertas del cielo y guió las manos de Moisés

And then he said go and tell my children these are my commandsY luego dijo ve y dile a mis hijos que estos son mis mandamientos

Go and climb that mountain Moses climb that mountain now and prayVe y sube esa montaña Moisés sube esa montaña ahora y reza

Climb that mountain now and tell us what our Lord has had to saySube esa montaña ahora y cuéntanos lo que nuestro Señor ha dicho

Thou shalt have no gods before me is my first commandNo tendrás dioses ajenos delante de mí es mi primer mandamiento

And thou shalt not make any graven image by thy handY no harás ninguna imagen de escultura con tus manos

Thou shalt not take my name in vain if thou would guiltless beNo tomarás en vano mi nombre si quieres ser inocente

Remember Thou to keep the sabbath day alone for meRecuerda guardar el día de reposo solo para mí

Honor thy father and thy mother and Thou shalt not killHonra a tu padre y a tu madre y no matarás

Thou shalt not commit adult'ry and Thou shalt not stealNo cometerás adulterio y no robarás

Love thy neighbor as Thyself and show Thy neighbor peaceAma a tu prójimo como a ti mismo y muestra paz a tu prójimo

Covet not Thy neighbor's house nor anything that's hisNo codicies la casa de tu prójimo ni nada que sea suyo

Moses showed these words of God to all the children thenMoisés mostró estas palabras de Dios a todos los hijos entonces

They pulled up stakes and headed out to find the promised landLevantaron campamento y se dirigieron a encontrar la tierra prometida

That Moses had described to them and told of comforts thereQue Moisés les había descrito y les habló de las comodidades allí

The children of oppression thought they'd not find anywhereLos hijos de la opresión pensaron que no encontrarían en ningún lugar

But they were soon to part from him and push alone awhilePero pronto tendrían que separarse de él y seguir solos por un tiempo

For it was never meant for him to walk that final milePues nunca fue su destino caminar esa última milla

The children cried if we must go on Moses without youLos hijos lloraban si debemos seguir Moisés sin ti

Then talk to God just one more time and tell us what to doEntonces habla con Dios una vez más y dinos qué hacer
