A rich man had a landUn hombre rico tenía tierras

Yielding heavy crops.Que producían abundantes cosechas.

His stores would be too smallSus almacenes eran demasiado pequeños

So this is what he thought:Así que esto es lo que pensó:

"I shall tear down my storehouses now"Voy a derribar mis almacenes ahora

And build bigger barns to store the goods.Y construir graneros más grandes para almacenar los bienes.

Then I can say to myself 'you're smart.Entonces podré decirme a mí mismo 'eres inteligente.

Now you're the richest in the neighborhood.'"Ahora eres el más rico del vecindario.'"

But God said to him "You are a fool,Pero Dios le dijo "Eres un tonto,

Tomorrow you'll die, no money saves you."Mañana morirás, el dinero no te salvará."

Today we just behaveHoy en día nos comportamos

Like the rich man did,Como lo hizo el hombre rico,

And act as money's slave,Y actuamos como esclavos del dinero,

Store more goods than we need.Almacenamos más bienes de los que necesitamos.

Money and might is all what we want,Dinero y poder es todo lo que queremos,

We're living good, but we want more.Vivimos bien, pero queremos más.

That once we must die this is a factQue una vez debemos morir es un hecho

That intentionally we ignore.Que intencionalmente ignoramos.

Death comes sudden, no one can tellLa muerte llega repentinamente, nadie puede decir

When all our money is drawing us to hellCuando todo nuestro dinero nos está llevando al infierno.

And God says to us "You are a fool,Y Dios nos dice "Eres un tonto,

Tomorrow you could die, no money saves you."Mañana podrías morir, el dinero no te salvará."

A rich man on earth remains a pauper in the sight of God.Un hombre rico en la tierra sigue siendo un pobre a los ojos de Dios.

Gather your treasures in heaven's bonds, so you save your soul.Reúne tus tesoros en los lazos del cielo, así salvas tu alma.
