Dianna Elise Agron ( AY-gron; born April 30, 1986) is an American actress and singer. Her work spans screen and stage, and her accolades include a Screen Actors Guild Award and nominations for two Grammy Awards and a Brit Award. Born into a Jewish family in Savannah, Georgia, Agron began acting in small theater productions in her youth, before making her screen debut in 2006. After garnering early attention with recurring television roles, she had her breakthrough with her starring role as Quinn Fabray in the Fox musical comedy drama series Glee (2009–2015). Agron's portrayal of poet Laura Riding in the historical biopic The Laureate (2021) was critically acclaimed, and she returned to mainstream television in the Netflix fantasy drama series The Chosen One (2023); her first non-English language role. Offscreen, Agron has also achieved success in the music industry, beginning with her work for the several soundtracks of Glee, and continuing to her Café Carlyle residency. She is also recognised for her advocacy, particularly in support of LGBTQ+ and human rights, gender equality, as well as for the Jewish community and against antisemitism. Labeled a sex symbol and fashion icon, Agron's old Hollywood fashion style and appearance has garnered widespread media attention.
