On the way to work this morning.En el camino al trabajo esta mañana.

I saw people and police cars.Vi gente y patrullas de policía.

Street was blocked. A squad deployed.La calle estaba bloqueada. Un escuadrón desplegado.

I asked a policeman what had happened.Le pregunté a un policía qué había pasado.

Only that I couldn't pass there.Solo que no podía pasar por ahí.

I'd have to find another way.Tenía que encontrar otro camino.

Laying face down on the street.Tirado boca abajo en la calle.

Behind a car that had been parked there.Detrás de un auto que había sido estacionado allí.

All I saw were legs and feet.Todo lo que vi fueron piernas y pies.

How could such a thing have happened?¿Cómo pudo haber sucedido algo así?

Was he someone that I knew?¿Era alguien que conocía?

I could witness the whole scene.Podía presenciar toda la escena.

Policemen talking, taking pictures.Policías hablando, tomando fotos.

The body still and so serene.El cuerpo quieto y tan sereno.

He must have jumped or maybe fallenDebe haber saltado o tal vez caído

Off the building just next door.Del edificio justo al lado.

Twenty seven stories downward.Veintisiete pisos hacia abajo.

To the concrete pavement floor.Hasta el piso de concreto.

On his way down did he look outEn su descenso ¿miró hacia afuera

At the Great Lake to the east?Hacia el Gran Lago al este?

Did he think about his family?¿Pensó en su familia?

Did he feel his soul released?¿Sintió su alma liberada?
