que o Seu nome seja
santificado e honrado
e que se separe um dia semanal
para a dedicação exclusiva
à adoração e ao serviço do Senhor.
Temos assim, uma pista,
já na perfeição da Lei
dada a Moisés,
quanto ao modo correto da santificação:
Primeiro amar a Deus,
separar-se para Ele,
cultuar-lhe em devoção sincera,
e assim sendo feito bom o coração
pela Sua graça divina,
a vida moral reta
será uma mera conseqüência
de tal adoração em espírito e em verdade.
E é exatamente tal ordem
que encontramos no Novo Testamento,
quanto ao modo da santificação,
e do serviço a Deus e ao próximo.
